The Heart of Teaching with Amber Cook-Green

  • Citizen Yoga Bloomfield + Online 6400 Telegraph Road Bloomfield Hills, MI, 48301 United States (map)

IN-STUDIO + ONLINE

Authentic, meaningful, clear, simple with a strong sense of who you are as a teacher of yoga. Does this sound like what you are trying to align yourself with as a yoga teacher?

In this training, we will use yoga philosophy to create authentic theming that honors the history of yoga. You will specifically be exposed to classical and contemporary history of postural yoga. We will explore the Purusharthas or four fundamental aims or goals of human life as a tool to bring you back to the heart of yourself and your teaching. I will direct you through many writing and movement exercises to transform technique into teaching classes that are cohesive and meaningful. This training is meant to clarify and weave your connection to the heart of what you/we are doing as yoga teachers standing in front of a group of people guiding them through asana, pranayama, meditation, and philosophy.  You will leave this training with a better sense of how to transform the technique of asana sequencing into teaching that is rooted in a deep connection to philosophy. You will leave with a greater understanding of how to simplify your teaching of technique to hold philosophical theming with integrity so that your students leave your classes empowered with mental clarity.
