300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

All you need
to know about
300HR Teacher Training.

  • Citizen Yoga’s 300-hour teacher training program builds upon and enhances the tools gained from previous training and experiences in a way that recognizes a teacher’s potential to facilitate an educational and impactful class. Most students in the 300-hour program are actively teaching or have intentions to begin teaching.

Highlights of the Citizen Yoga 300-hour training include:

    • Rolling admission, new students are always joining the program throughout the year.

    • Hybrid format – all modules are offered via a combination of in-studio + online

    • New Immersive Curriculum – immersive weekends allow participants to dive deep into their learning and finish their 300HR certification in as little as 18 months. Participants are required to complete one 300hr credited training at Citizen every 3 months in order to maintain active enrollment status.

    • Access to Citizen teachers + guest teachers from across the nation

    • Connection with peer yoga teachers from across Michigan + beyond

The Five Layers of Class

FEB 26 - MAR 1, 2026 | IN-STUDIO + ONLINE

The five layers of class are a diagnostic tool to help teachers manage the energy of a room and course correct anytime class feels “off.”  These layers always exist, but how they exist changes throughout different moments in class. By managing the five layers of class, teachers support a student’s ability to reorient the mind inwards.

  • Over the course of the weekend, we will study pose breakdown, pranayama techniques, the hero’s journey, demonstration techniques, body placement and key hands-on adjustments, use of music, and pacing. The weekend will culminate with an experience of practice teaching for all participants.

This course is one of the 6 core curriculum immersions for the Citizen Yoga 300HR teacher training program and counts as 32 contact hours. Any yoga teacher not currently enrolled in the CY 300HR program are welcome and encouraged to enroll. Students must enroll in the entire weekend to participate. All sessions are hybrid and recordings are available.

  • Sessions will be led by Kacee Must and members of the 300HR Teaching Team.
