Simplicity doesn't mean surface-level. It means returning, again and again, to the root teachings, until they stop being theoretical concepts and start becoming practice. This course is designed for anyone wanting to become a true student of yoga.
Patanjali's Eight Limbs are the backbone of so many 200-hour teacher training programs, Citizen Yoga included, often introduced but rarely given the hours for in depth exploration. In this course, we slow down. Each session is built around a deep, sustained study of the eight limbs as both a philosophical framework and a lived practice, paired with detailed, embodied work in asana and pranayama.
Throughout the training, we'll study directly from foundational texts, including Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and the work of Dr. Gail Parker, bringing ancient philosophy into dialogue with a more contemporary, embodied, and inclusive understanding of yoga.
