Perinatal Yoga Training

This Perinatal Yoga Training with Dayle Extrell will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the unique needs of pregnant, birthing and postpartum practitioners, and will instill confidence in how to support those needs through yoga. We will explore:

  • Benefits of Prenatal Yoga 

  • Considerations by pregnancy trimester

  • Prenatal anatomy and fetal development

  • The Anatomy of Breath: Understanding the core and pelvic floor

  • Warm ups, sun salutations, standing postures, and seated and lying postures for prenatal students

  • Effective use of props and chairs for prenatal yoga

  • Core + pelvic floor exercises for pregnancy + postpartum

  • Restorative yoga for pregnancy

  • Pranayama for prenatal students

  • Meditation & mantra for perinatal students

  • Prenatal partner yoga

  • Hands on adjustments and assists

  • Common prenatal complications

  • Common postpartum complications 

  • Parent and Baby Yoga

  • Class planning/sequencing 

  • Team teach a prenatal yoga class

This training is designed for yoga teachers, birth workers, and interested yoga practitioners. This module counts as 18 hours towards the Citizen Yoga 300HR program, but you do not have to be a current 300HR student to participate. (If you are not already a certified 200 HR yoga teacher, this training alone will not certify you to teach yoga to any population.)

Price: $315 for the entire weekend

Dates: Sat, May 18, 8am - 6pm and Sun, May 19, 8am - 6pm

Location: This training will be hosted at The Fourth Tri Sanctuary, a postpartum day retreat + event space located at 23520 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220. Parking is available on-site.
