MENTORSHIP
Teaching with Purpose
with Hannah Andersen
JUL 8 - AUG 5
Hybrid (in-person + online)
Over the course of 4 weeks, participants will study and learn with other students and teachers at Citizen Yoga. The intimate experience of this program will allow for greater insight about teaching abilities, compassionately help discover blindspots, and allow better comprehension towards stepping more authentically into the studio space.
Capacity is 10 students.

This Mentorship Program aims to support yoga (and movement) teachers in developing a clear teaching voice, identifying individual and collective values, and effectively cultivating a studio learning environment. Through investigating movement biases, preferences, priorities, and contexts, both new and seasoned teachers will take a deep dive into what it means to be a teacher, how to enter and command a space, and most importantly, allow for student growth and learning. Utilizing approaches from motor learning, various teaching philosophies, and somatic approaches, participants will develop a deep understanding of the relationship between teaching and learning. Constant dedication to the practice and theory woven into teaching is essential for the growth of both physical practice and presence.
