Meditation is a time-honored technique of self-reflection. It’s been shown to strengthen neural connections, memory, learning, & attention. Writing has also proven to strengthen neuro-networks, memory, and learning.
In addition, both meditation and writing can facilitate valuable insights. In that way these techniques are tools for illumination and understanding. Used separately, they’re effective; used together, they can profoundly enhance one’s self-awareness.
The 2 hour workshop begins with a brief introduction to meditation and the art of memoir. A short meditation will be followed by time for students to do some exploratory free-writing and/or brainstorming. The class will conclude with a group share and/or a q & a.
